Chiropractic
Chiropractic is a branch of the healing arts focused on the function of the spine and neuromuscular system and how they relate to health. The unique aspect of Chiropractic care is spinal manipulation, or “adjustment,” which involves moving the bones of the spine and pelvis in such a way as to restore normal function to the joints. Doctors of Chiropractic are taught many forms of spinal manipulation. In our office, we use the following:
- Diversified
- Cox Flexion/Distraction
- Activator
- Drop techniques
- Pelvic Blocking
A Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) evaluates the spine using standard physical examination methods, X-rays, and advanced testing (such as MRI) when necessary. Once it is determined that a patient may benefit from Chiropractic care, a course of treatment is planned. In addition to spinal manipulation, adjunctive therapies such as massage, electric muscle stimulation, ultrasound, and therapeutic exercises may be recommended.
